Classy Deere Classic Win

Illini alum Steve Stricker won the John Deere Classic golf tournament this weekend, and is now second in the FedEx point standings, behind Tiger Woods. Stricker's eagle on the 6th hole in the 4th round earned him a spot in the SportsCenter Top 10.

Because Friday's play was rained out, Stricker and all others who made the cut played two rounds Sunday. Stricker was 3 strokes under those who tied for second, including Iowan Zach Johnson. As he heads to the British Open, Stricker is playing really well.

But beyond his winning shots, Stricker proved to be a classy player. After the delayed second round on Saturday, he thanked and congratulated a local club pro who was playing in his first PGA Tour event but didn't make the cut -- even though the local is a Hawkeye.

Congratulations, Steve! It's always fun to see an Illini do well.
